Is the library open to the public?
Answer
Yes. Anyone with a valid photo ID may enter the libraries during the hours we are open to visitors. For details, see UAB Libraries Access Guidelines and look under Physical Access Policy for Visitors.
To enter Lister Hill Library or Sterne Library:
- Go to the library entrance.
- Use the intercom button (or phone number on signage) to communicate with staff.
- Be prepared to show your photo ID to the camera or to HUB desk staff.
If you want to use library computers, you can get a guest pass from the HUB desk.
If you want to check out books and are a resident of Alabama, you can get a Courtesy card.
