How do I find articles on my topic?
Answer
To find articles on a topic, follow these steps:
- Go to the Search Collections box on the library homepage.
- Enter keywords pertaining to your topic.
- Use the dropdown menu to select Articles. (optional)
- Search.
- Use the filters to limit your results. For example:
- Choose Available Online to see full text articles only.
- Choose Peer-reviewed Journals if you need scholarly (academic) sources.
- Choose Articles to remove other resource types.
- Change the date range if you want recent articles only.
If your first search does not yield good results, try again with different keywords. Think of synonyms or other ways to name your topic.

Note that Search Collections will search multiple databases. If your assignment requires you to search in a specific database (e.g. PubMed, CINAHL, JSTOR, or Academic Search Premier), you can browse our alphabetical list of Databases to find the one you need.
