May I capture videos using the VR headset?

Yes, our virtual and augmented reality tools support the creation of video screencaptures. If you would like to capture video using the wired VIVE Pro workstations please inform the studio facilitator that you would like to use this functionality. Please bring a flash drive to save your video captures at the end of your session if you are using the VIVE PRO workstations. Uploading screenshots to a cloud or filesharing service by logging in to personal accounts will not be permitted from the VIVE PRO workstations.
Screen recordings can also be created using the Oculus Quest, Meta Quest 2, and the original Microsoft HoloLens headsets. Connect these headsets to a laptop or desktop computer to download the video recordings.
The UAB Libraries are not responsible for video screen recordings that are not saved to an external flash drive before the end of a VR session or saved before a device is returned and reset.
