What is a peer-reviewed article, and how can I find one?
Answer
A peer-reviewed article is an academic (scholarly) article that was reviewed by experts in an academic field. Peer-reviewed articles are published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
For help distinguishing between academic and popular journals, see the guide Academic (Scholarly) and Popular Articles.
Peer-reviewed articles are easy to find in most of the Libraries' databases. If you have the option in your database, check the box that says Scholarly or Peer-reviewed to limit your search.
