Q. I am a health care provider in Alabama. How can I acquire journal articles?

If you need health-related journal articles, there are several possible ways to access these articles at no charge:

  • Google Scholar - Search for the title or full reference of the article in Google Scholar and you may find a free version of the article.
  • PubMed - When viewing the abstract of the article in PubMed you may find the PMC Free Full text button in the upper right. It will link to the HTML and the PDF version of the article.
  • PubMedCentral - You may also go directly to PubMed Central to search for freely accessible articles.
  • Publishers - PubMed provides buttons that link to the publishers. Selected articles are sometimes free directly through the publisher. Publishers also offer the ability to purchase or rent the article, and selected or Open Access articles are delivered for free.
