Why aren't my Blazer ID and password working to access library resources?

Answer

In order to access library resources from off campus, you must have an active Blazer ID and be a current faculty, staff, or student. There may be a lag time as you are processed through the system if:

  • it's the end of a term;
  • you are changing departments or jobs/positions (this happens to residents a lot!); or
  • there is any other situation that would cause one department/group to delete you from their group so that you can be added to another.

Try logging in to BlazerNET or check your Blazer ID at Blazer ID Central. If neither of these work, check with your department to see about the status of your paperwork.

If you are able to log in to all other UAB services but you still are unable to get to library resources, please let us know. Keep in mind, however, that while all of these resources draw from the same Blazer ID database, they don't all refresh at the same time. For example, email often has a 30-day grace period while other applications are immediately suspended.
